Battle Zoom Cam not always on the action

Postby tempelorg » Tue Apr 18, 2017 7:23 pm

Again on iPhone 6. I usually am zoomed in to the max. It happens about half time that when the oppoent attacks, the cam is still focused on the previous attack and I therefore do not see the next attack when it happens.

Yeah I think we need to speed up the scrolling somewhat. Is this whilst in "fast forward" mode?

By Fast Fwd mode I guess you mean what you get after pressing the >> button? Then no, I didn't press that. I've checked all 4 options in the Settings.
And it apparently only happens if you were fully zoomed in when ending the turn.
If you can't reproduce it, I can try making a screen recording via airplay.

Can't repro that, unless I'm missing something. A vid would be much appreciated, thanks. :)

Here's a movie: http://files.tempel.org/tmp/ELWG-1.m4v

Let me know when you've downloaded it, I like to delete it before it gets out of hand with the downloads :)

When the turret starts shoowing after half time, you won't see what it shoots at. I see that happening all the time, with mobile units as well.

And here's another example of a bad zoom:

Image

It was even worse at start - the entire screen was just this grey. When I made the screenshot, it just started to zoom out a bit. But for 1-2 seconds, it was all grey and I first thought it crashed. Turns out this is, in campaign #3 or #4, the highly elevated tiles on the hill I was seeing.

Related, when you use the fast forward button through an enemy turn, the camera zooms WAY OUT and it becomes hard to see anything going on if the map is big enough. Could you consider a free camera as an option so we can go to where most of the action might take place instead of watching tiny ants twitch about?

I think we're on about our 7th iteration of this. Positioning on "most" of the action and ignoring the outliers is probably the best way but I can't figure out how to do it. Will work more on it once all the cherries have been picked.
